School project S2 – Vector Art : Spitfire

This is our final project for the Adobe Illustrator CS4 class. We have to recreate a photo-realistic object using exclusively illustrator. This WWII Spitfire fighter plane was mostly done with the mesh and gradient tools. The biggest difficulty in this project was the uneven surface of the fuselage and special attention was needed to recreate the light reflections. The airplane canopy including the pilots were also quite a challenge. It took me around 60 hours to create and I am very proud of the result. Click on the image to see close-ups of the design.

School project S2 – Red Pepper vector art

This red pepper was created in Adobe Illustrator CS4 using the mesh tool. This was practice for our final project which is a detailed photo-realistic object. I will be posting that project at the end of the semester.
