Show Reel 2017
Sample of my professional work at Canada Soccer from the last 5 years along side Freelance work and personal projects that inspire me.
SLOW | UNDER – A slow motion experiment
Last summer I experimented with the high frame rate of the GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition by filming my nephew playing in the pool. I then converted the underwater footage into slow motion video and added some music and a graphic title logo. The double title “SLOW | UNDER” (also meaning “SLO | WUNDER”) is represented by the typography divided on three lines with a turquoise triangle pointing down. Fairly simple and evocative.
Music: “Porcelain” by Moby.

Motion design corporate presentation
In my quest to master motion design, I started a personal project inspired by the title sequence of the miniseries The Pacific and The Borgias. Since I already worked for them in the past, I decided to use the Caisse Populaire Desjardins Rideau d’Ottawa 100th anniversary as the subject of this project. The one minute sequence is a corporate presentation of the origin and milestones on this financial institution’s history. The video is available in 720p on Youtube.

A Time-lapse Experiment
There are many beautiful and inspiring Time-lapse videos on the web. Because of my interest in every visual art form, I decided to try and make one myself as an experiment. Since I don’t own a DSLR camera, the shots don’t look as professional as I liked. The intervals (30s) in between the shots was a bit too long and made the final video fast and a bit choppy. Nonetheless, the combination of the animated photography with the music by Chris Blackwell offers quite a view of by bedroom window.

School projet S6 : Radio-Canada/CBC Re-branding
This project involved a re-branding exercise of a Canadian public company. The development of the new brand extended to the research of the character of the brand, the style presentation (moodboard), the creation of the new logo and applications including a presentation book. The new brand has undergone an evolution rather than a transformation in order to maintain the reputation of this Crown corporation. Below are some images taken from the presentation book. The video moodboard (see article) and the details presentation book (7MB 42 pages) are available in french.

School project S6 – The graduates website
In this project, each student created a portfolio website that featured all graduating graphic design student for 2012. While a lot of students build their website around the same theme as the graduates exhibition, I decided to go in a completely different direction… a periodic table of graduating students. I must admit that my idea would have been more fitting for chemistry graduates, but since each student has its strenghts and weaknesses, certain elements mixed together could create a reactive design. This is the basic chemistry of teamwork. My website wasn’t chosen as the official website, but was a finalist. The official 2012 Graphic Design graduates website will be accessible here at the end of the semester.
The live version of my website can be accessed here. The animated introduction was made in Adobe After Effects. Note that only my student page is available on this website.

My first motion design creation
As part of a school project dedicated to a rebranding of Radio-Canada/CBC, we had to create a moodboard expressing the direction we were taking for the future logo and image of this public institution. Since R-C/CBC is mostly known for its television broadcasting, I decided to compile our team research into a video clip. I taught myself the basics of Adobe After Effects CS5 in a day and took a weekend to create this simple, yet effective motion design clip. The original clip was made in HD, but I had to downgrade the quality for a more appropriate upload time. I will post the result of the rebranding, when the school project is complete.
